Jurassic Heart

When I first read “start the song with a chorus”, my rule-bending noggin immediately had an idea… I can start the song with a “chorus” of my high school chorus students singing… which then snowballed into: I can have my students write an entire song! And so, I assigned this song as a creative writing project for my advanced chamber choir class of 25 students, who eagerly leapt at the opportunity. Over the course of a week they wrote, composed, and recorded all the disparate verses/choruses/outros/sound effects you hear. My goal was to get them collaborating, problem-solving, and having fun bringing their own baby into the world, and hopefully that fun comes across…

Sometimes I feel like a loner, but when I’m with you, I get a massive… love in my heart

I should’ve known it from the start, that she would break my–

I tried to impress her, all my attempts failed

Now as I watch the Pterodactyls soar
