A Nora Carona
Ben
Rotator
Yeah, “corona” is spelled wrong. For the ‘drome!
lyrics:
Everything I do as me
Is really how I feel really, and I
Couple in now were talking
Double length cow we’re walking, I
Everything I do I say
We’re roommates in a grown ass way, and I
Precarious, but easy to do
Everything I see when I walk with you
doopdeedoo
Couple deep now were talking
Troubled beef cow we’re walking now
I wanna get home real late
Cuz friends are what we do for dates, and I
People seem old, morning’s steep
It’s gettin real cold, see if you can sleep
.
get well soon.

Bennnnn, the melody is gettin’ me. That fall is so gentle, but has a little bite to it. Vocals sound great, I like hearing you front and center. Very sweet.
Guitar tone is killer, here.

this is so gentle & feels like an autumn afternoon walk with someone you really love. i like the vocal effect, but think you could mix it clearer (or maybe double it, and leave one uneffected) cos you have a really emotive & sweet tone.

i agree. i do love the effects, but i think, i may love your voice even more.

I think your mixes are getting better/clearer overall, while maintaining all the unique bits that define your sound. Super catchy melody, per usual. Glad nora has this song to stick in her head.

Damn man this is super lovely. Love this space for your vocals and absolutely adore the guitar and vocals’ interactions. Great production on both. And your arrangement! I love when a listener isn’t asked to picture a band in a room, but flourishes and instruments just kind of spin off of the main vehicle—in this case the singer and his guitar—these natural peripheral thoughts and energies. You killed this.

Thank you for mentioning the “band in the room” thing. I always think about that. Do you have examples of songs that aren’t “band in the room” asks vs songs that are?
Ryan July 21, 2020 1:27pm
I think a lot about Sufjan, Vagabon (self-titled), San Fermin, etc. when I think about avoiding the “band in a room” thing… Gabriel Kahane’s “Empire Liquor Mart” as well, although that ends up reaching a band moment, too. But it just kind of just seems like anything can happen in those worlds. I tend to notice it more in the chamber pop/indie classical world most (probably related to how heavily orchestrated some of the stuff is).

Feels good to listen to. And I like how the guitar plays the vocal melody. I appreciate the impression that the song is everything it was meant to be with nothing artificial in excess of that.

I love this, man. I love the humor in your music. I felt instantly at home listening to this

Man, first feedback I gave was on Nora’s tune, oddly enough yours is the final one I’ve gotten to listen to.
Between 9-10:30 I’ve heard from a lot of minds experiencing this whole thing in totally different ways.
Maybe I feel closure listening to your track because it’s the end of the sesh but.. really great to hear what this is like for you ‘on the other side.’
Really beautiful, sending you astral beef.
Love,

This tune is super sweet. I dig what you did with the vocal production a lot. The whole thing has a really nice dreamlike vibe to it. It’s like instant nostalgia.

nostalgia feels nice these days.
