Meteor Shower at the Motel

Single sitting session, got caught up mastering, not reallllly sure what I am doing there.

Drums and mallets are programmed, played bass and laid down some layered audio tracks.

Enjoyed this one. Spooooooky.

Let me know what you think!

Looking for feedback on

mastering, how we feelin about the programmed instruments too? anything!

That bass tone is so disgusting in the absolute best way. The mix of sounds and tones in this really unsettle me, but like, in a really good way.

This track genuinely scares me.

Re: mix/master — I think my only observation here is the thinness of the e-kit. I think some more low end and low-mids would go a long way. Warm compression, warm saturation. Badabingbadaboom.

So compelling from the get-go. “blocking my view of the goddamn shower” – I’m shaking my fist with you.

i’m so into this… i want to see this music in a dirty basement club with no windows. i appreciate how dominating the bass is and how you threw the vocal tracks around- it’s a consuming listening experience. very cool stuff my dude.

Chris, when Nora and I were casually listening to some NCBC entries on Sunday night, we both seriously perked up when this song came on. This is so cool. You officially wrote the most badass intro of the week. I love how the vocals come in immediately and sort of pingpong from side to side. great vocal tone. SO creepy. Also the way you come out of that last vocal note in the song is really well executed and well conceived.

This song would be seriously worth making a couple tweaks to and releasing. namely, something like what @@nicksaid. tinker with the drums a little. maybe change or evolve them slightly from section to section, but that’s basically it. this is awesome.

sick bass line. and i like the tone. i love experimenting with dirtying-up the programmed instruments. throw some overdrive on the cymbals and snare. sometimes their natural cleanness stands out too much. i think increasing the kick volume would go a long way in melding it to the bass line as well. nice & spooky, brother.
